Villa le Reve (Dream Villa) in Vence, on the French Riviera in the south of France was home to Henri Matisse from 1943 to 1949. It was whist living here that he completed the murals and stained glass windows of the Chapelle du Rosaire, across from the villa. Many well known works were created here by Matisse, this was the house where ‘Still Life with Pomegranates’ was painted, looking out the french windows through the palm trees.

Painting Riviera offers you the unique chance to live and paint in this historic in location. Our one week painting course aims to unlock your artistic potential, enjoy the southern french light and follow in the footsteps of Matisse. The art groups are small, around 8 to 10 people (maximum 15) giving you a chance to meet like-minded artists of all levels.
